Transformers Grants Programme
The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic bid was won on a promise of a legacy of regeneration for east London and the difference it would make to local communities. In order to make this vision a reality we are delighted that the Olympic Lottery Distributor has agreed to fund the Transformers grants programme that will be managed by ELBA.
Transformers is targeted at communities in five of the Olympic Host Boroughs and the programme will fund projects for up to two years. The application process opened on 3 September 2010 and will close in December 2012 with no costs covered beyond this period. Grants are available for between £10,000 and £20,000 per annum.
Transformers will only fund projects that are delivered in Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham, Waltham Forest and Greenwich. Applicants will need to prove a strong track record in delivering projects in these boroughs and should be established organisations with a track record of delivery and community engagement - enabling the programme to “invest in success”.
The first and second round of awards from the Transformers grants programme have been announced. Go to the Funded Projects section to see the organisations chosen.
The final round of applications for Transformers funding is now closed. Decisions will be announced to all the applicants on Wednesday 21st December 2011. We cannot enter into a discussion about the applications at this time.
ELBA will also run annual events where community leaders can come together to make connections and share their learning.
